Every year, MNN honors the passion and impact of nonprofit professionals and organizations in the state’s nonprofit sector with the Nonprofit Excellence Awards, presented by Citizens. The Nonprofit Excellence Awards are presented to six nonprofit organizations and employees that exemplify the most innovative, creative, and effective work being done throughout the Commonwealth.

Event
This year’s ceremony took place on the evening of June 12, 2024, at the New England Aquarium. Hundreds of nonprofit professionals, organizations, affiliate businesses, and supporters gathered to celebrate the sector.
Awards
Awards were distributed to individuals and nonprofit organizations in the following six categories: Excellence in Advocacy, Excellence in Community-Building (new this year), Excellence in Innovation, Excellence in Leadership, Excellence by a Small Nonprofit, and Excellence by a Young Professional.
