Federal Impacts Survey

Policy and Federal Updates-10 (1)

2026 Results

On March 5, 2026, nearly 500 people convened in-person and virtually for the release of the second Federal Impacts Survey results. Presented in partnership with The Boston Foundation and MassINC Polling Group, the findings helped capture the impact of the past year’s disruptive federal policy actions on nonprofit organizations, their staff, and the communities they serve.

Over 480 nonprofit leaders from across the Commonwealth responded to this second survey. Hearing their overall perspectives, plus a live panel conversation with public and nonprofit leaders, helped elevate the true role and costs nonprofits are carrying one year into the current federal administration, and identified areas of strength to build from for the marathon ahead.

2025 Results

Over 500 nonprofit leaders in Massachusetts completed the first Federal Impacts Survey back in February and March of 2025. Once the responses were analyzed, nearly 700 people convened in-person and virtually at The Boston Foundation on May 5 for the reveal and subsequent panel discussion of the survey results. We are confident that the takeaways from these conversations helped inform bold action to ensure that nonprofits can continue to respond to community needs.
