Job Description

Greater Boston PFLAG is currently seeking a second full-time Program Manager to work in collaboration with the Program Manager and Executive Director to deliver new and existing LGBTQ programs throughout Massachusetts. The Program Manager is a critical member of the Greater Boston PFLAG Team, managing and helping facilitate the organization’s award-winning programs.

The Program Manager will have responsibility for facilitating outreach programs in academic (K-12) and community settings. The Program Manager will also oversee the Safe Schools and Communities Program and be the primary liaison with GBPFLAG’s Support Groups, Help Line, and One-to-One Parent Support Network. The ideal candidate must be an experienced speaker/trainer who excels in facilitating nuanced and sometimes challenging conversations with enthusiasm, compassion, and a high level of awareness around the topics of sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, intersectionality, and social justice.

The Program Manager must enjoy working with youth as well as in professional workplace settings. The Program Manager must be able to work in a fast-paced office environment and oversee significant job responsibilities, including managing the ongoing details of many different programs and partnerships. The Program Manager should have strong interpersonal skills, excel in establishing and maintaining relationships, and be enthusiastic about expanding opportunities for LGBTQ programs and partnerships. While the majority of this position can be accomplished during regular business hours, several night and weekend commitments will also be required.

Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in an education, counseling, social work, public health, or a related field is preferred. A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience is required; Work with diverse populations required; background in education, youth programs or similar work strongly preferred as is fluency in Spanish.
