About The Salem Pantry
The Salem Pantry (TSP) works collaboratively to empower our diverse local and regional communities by ensuring the essential right to convenient and reliable access to healthy food.  TSP is currently in a growth phase as an organization, with new leadership in place, a newly approved mission and strategic plan and building a new storefront pantry.  Combined with an engaged Board of Directors, the small Pantry staff works closely with partner organizations and countless volunteers to operate its programs.  This year, TSP is excited to add the new position of Marketing & Communications Coordinator to our team.
 
The Position
The Salem Pantry is seeking a Marketing & Communications Coordinator to lead all marketing and communications functions of the organization.  Reporting to the Executive Director, the Marketing & Communications Coordinator will work to ensure that the brand is positioned to increase the overall visibility and enhance the reputation of the organization regarding the dynamic services it provides to the community.  This position will lead the organization’s communication strategy and execution, with a unique focus to each of our core constituencies: pantry guests, donors, volunteers and community partners.  The Marketing & Communications Coordinator role is a full-time position with regularly scheduled Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to)
●      Design and create external communications: press releases, email newsletters, donor appeals, annual reports, website and social media content, flyers, brochures and any other needed collateral
●      Develop all social media strategy and communications. Update web site, as needed.
●      Assist and interpret the Pantry’s data analysis work, to better assess our impact and to guide future programming
●      Create talking points for Pantry staff, board and volunteers for consistent messaging
●      Work as a primary liaison to the Board’s Marketing and Communications Committee
●      Lead the creation & execution of Marketing Calendar, in partnership with Marketing & Communications Committee
●      Work with external printers, graphic designers, photographers, videographers, and other vendors, as needed
●      Assisting the Development Officer with special events and partnerships
●      Train other staff, interns and volunteers in relevant technologies and systems, as needed
 
Qualifications
●      Prior marketing experience, including creating content and flyers using Canva and Adobe. Experience in a non-profit role preferred.
●      Demonstrate the ability to be well-organized, work independently and within a team, with the ability to multitask, set work priorities, track projects and meet deadlines
●      Proven interpersonal skills including excellent listening, public speaking, oral and written communications skills
●      Outstanding attention to detail and ability to proofread work
●      Experience managing professional social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn) and websites (Wix, WordPress)
●      Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook)
●      Flexibility to work occasional early mornings, nights or weekends for special events or meetings
●      Proven capacity to work in a multicultural workforce and community, including sensitivity and competence in working with individuals and groups of diverse racial, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
●      Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to and passion for The Salem Pantry mission
●      Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
 
Compensation
The Marketing & Communications Coordinator position is a full-time position with a salary range of $48,000 to 53,000. (Benefits include healthcare reimbursement, 401 (k) plan with organizational match & paid time off policy)
