  • Continually seek to identify new funding prospects in support of innovative and/or strategic programs or projects
  • Work with senior leadership to identify areas of strategic alignment and to develop funding concept ideas
  • Meet or exceed annual goals for revenue through timely submission of well-researched, well-written and well-documented grant proposals according to funder’s requirements
  • Collaboratively develop first and final drafts of proposals to identified funders, including cover letters, applications, narratives, project budgets, and related required or desired attachments and submission of progress and final reports to funders
  • Work to cultivate and maintain positive relationships with funders and partnering organizations
  • Assist in writing content, aligned with KDC’s brand pillars, for KDC marketing and communications materials
  • Assist with all Development activities including fundraising events
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  Qualifications:  
  • Writer with a minimum of 3 years work experience in communications and/or grant writing. Experience in non-profit/human services sector preferred.
  • Strong self-starter, capable of working independently; ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines; dedicated to carefully proofing all materials prepared.
  • Excellent working knowledge of:  Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Internet; email; high level of skill and confidence with new programs.
  • Travel Required
  • Experience with developmental disabilities or healthcare a plus.
