Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Foundation and Corporate Partnerships advances all foundation and corporate giving throughout the organization for unrestricted and restricted support. This position develops strategies for both foundations and corporations that align with Manomet’s unique approach to problem solving. An important aspect of this position is to identify new sources of funding, cultivate new and steward existing relationships with foundation staff and trustees and corporate leaders. This position is full time and reports to the Vice President of Mission Advancement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 

 

Foundation and Corporate Relations

Initiate new and maintain existing relationships with foundations. Collaborate with Manomet Senior Program Leaders to be aware of current ideas and funding needs and creatively develop strategy and partnerships that benefit specific projects and the organization. Build a network of key relationships and attend networking events sponsored by organizations such as Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), Philanthropy MA, Massachusetts Nonprofit Network (MNN), Maine Association of Nonprofits (MANP), the Maine Philanthropy Center, the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce, and others.

 
Corporate Giving
Grow our Corporate Giving Program for unrestricted and/or program support, including for Manomet’s signature fundraising event and other events as needed. Identify, new corporate prospects and cultivate and steward existing partners. Ensure all benefits are fulfilled such as recognition at events, on the website, and in the Annual Report.

 

Research
Research grant-making organizations to understand current and changing foundation interests. Identify new funding sources linking funder interests to Manomet programs and projects. Develop a foundation and corporate funding strategy that capitalizes on Manomet’s unique approach of engaging people with diverse perspectives who are in a position to put science to use. Develop personal connections with funders and set up meetings between funders and relevant Manomet staff. Work with the Manomet board and staff to build and maintain a network of key foundation and corporate funder relationships.

 

Funder Management
Serve as moves manager for foundations, corporate, and government grant opportunities throughout the organization for unrestricted and restricted support, manage the proposal submission process for all grants submitted throughout the organization. In addition, responsible for coordinating proposal budget development with Finance staff. Other administrative responsibilities include:

 

 

 

Maintain, manage, and implement proposal calendar
Assure the accuracy and integrity of the foundation, corporate, and government funder information maintained and tracked in Raisers Edge
Work closely with Finance and Program staff to prepare and track grant awards
Generate reports on the status of proposals, awards and financial goals for Board, Development Committee and other requests as needed

 
 

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and at least 10 years of related fundraising experience.
Experience in environmental, conservation or sustainability fields preferred. Experience with foundations, corporate, and government
An ability to think strategically and creatively.
Clear, demonstrated capacity for managing high profile relationships.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in the suite of Microsoft Office products and preferred experience with Raisers Edge software.
An energetic self-starter able to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to thrive in a challenging, fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Proven reliability in meeting deadlines. Attentive and responsive. Ability to multitask and work with multiple staff.
