Job Description

The Improbable Players is seeking a Development Assistant to join our team. Primary responsibilities will include: donation processing, assist with development events and mailings, assist with other organizational needs as assigned. An individual who is efficient, accurate, has the ability to multitask and is a team player is essential in this position. The ideal candidate for this job is resourceful, a good problem solver and organized. Assuring a steady completion of workload in a timely manner is key to success in this position. The Development Assistant will report to the Executive Director. Exact schedule is somewhat flexible depending on company commitments with options for remote work.   Responsibilities and Duties
  • Building and maintaining donor database (eTapestry, a blackbaud product). Including reviewing donor data for accuracy and reporting, developing reports, and entering donations in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Processing acknowledgement letters for donations and event attendance.
  • Reconcile donations with accounting monthly.
  • Draft and execute communications needed for development including newsletter articles, annual fund letter and emails, and thank you letters.
  • Support annual fund activities including direct mail and email solicitations.
  • Carry out administrative tasks as needed, including logistics for meetings, material preparation and record keepings.
  • Assisting with planning and executing fundraising events and other organization-wide events, including compiling invitation lists, working with outside vendors on event logistics, tracking responses, and developing attendee profiles.
  • Manage event ticket and sponsorship processing and ensure event information are accurately recorded in database.
  Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Prior administrative experience desired
  • Desire to learn and develop expertise in donor database platforms required and proficiency with a donor database platform a strong plus.
  • Polished communication and interpersonal skills with external constituents
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to act with diplomacy with constituents and maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Work well both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
  • Ability to multitask, meet multiple deadlines, and keep a calm demeanor in a fast-pace environment.
  • Demonstrated interest in recovery and the Improbable Players Mission , a plus.
  • Proficient using database systems, word-processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and e-mail computer applications (Etapestry, Constant Contact,
  • Google Suite, and MS Office Suite).
Qualifications 
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in one or more of the following fields: development, customer service, nonprofits, and/or administration.
