Position Summary:

The Guardianship Program is a well-established program within the Services for Older Adults division of JF&CS. JF&CS is the largest provider of state funded guardianship under a contract with the MA Executive Office of Elder Affairs. The program serves our most vulnerable older adults many of whom have either been physically, psychologically, and/or financially abused by individuals known to them or are seriously self-neglecting and have no appropriate family to assume responsibility for their well-being. Our program allows older adults to live safely in the community for as long as possible, without risk of serious harm and with an improved quality of life.

The Administrative Coordinator will join a dedicated and skilled team. This full-time, Monday through Friday position involves a broad range of tasks associated with ensuring the fiscal and legal compliance of the program. 

Your workday will include:

  • Working in concert with program directors and case managers in recording-keeping for each guardianship client from initial inventory of financial assets to ongoing tracking of deposits, payment of invoices for housing, medical, legal and other expenses as well as use of petty cash.
  • Completing and submitting all required documentation associated with guardianship/conservator activities to courts.
  • Working collaboratively with case managers, banks, attorneys, the courts, other community agencies, medical & personal care providers.
  • Demonstrating openness to learning through use of supervision as well as participation in staff meetings as appropriate.

What can you bring to this position?

  • B.A. or equivalent with relevant experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Extremely detail oriented.
  • Self-initiated.
  • Ideal candidate will have some experience in banking, finance, probate court, or as a paralegal or legal secretarial position.
  • Experience creating, editing and deleting information on databases.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (excel, word, outlook, power point), cloud-based QuickBooks
