On this day, hundreds of nonprofit and business leaders, along with government officials, come together at the State House to celebrate the work of the nonprofit sector and raise awareness of critical issues throughout the state at MNN’s annual celebration of Nonprofit Awareness Day, presented by Citizens Bank. During the celebration, MNN will present the winners of this year’s Nonprofit Excellence Awards to nonprofit organizations and employees that exemplify the most innovative, creative and effective work being done throughout the Commonwealth. Massachusetts was the first state in the country to have an annual Nonprofit Awareness Day, which was recognized and signed into law by Governor Deval Patrick in 2008.
